On arrival at Conway Farm, you will be shown to your rooms and given time to unpack before a short briefing about the animals you are hunting and the areas they will be in. If you have brought your own rifles, you will be taken down to the rifle range to check the scope hasn't moved during the journey.
Breakfast (usually consisting of coffee and rusks) is served at dawn or before if an early start is required. Then the morning hunt commences until lunch time when you return for a home cooked meal or if you have travelled further away, a picnic will be provided.
After lunch, the hottest part of the day, most of the animals will be laying in the shade so we do the same. Either have a sleep or just relax out of the sun. At approximately 3pm the hunting can resume until dusk. On arrival back at the lodge, everyone gathers around a camp fire in the boma to have a drink and exchange their stories of the days hunting.
An excellent evening meal is then served with South African wine (or whatever drink you may prefer) before turning in for the night ready for an early start in the morning.
